People have long been intrigued by dolphins, likely in part due to their intelligence. These highly social creatures have demonstrated cooperative behaviors and are known to be playful and interactive with other species, including humans. Perhaps those traits, in combination with their mythologic past symbolizing joy and transformation, have made them a fascination to humans. But should people really be swimming and interacting with dolphins for pleasure, both in captivity and in the wild? Expecting mothers in particular have sought them out for the idea that dolphins can stimulate brain growth in fetuses by squeaking at them, and that dolphins can detect fetal heart tones utilizing echolocation. There are people who actually pay to give birth surrounded by dolphins. But what if I told you that dolphins could potentially be more dangerous than sharks? What? Sometimes killing for sport. As one of the few species who mate for pleasure, not just procreation, groups of male dolphins have been known to assault a female dolphin violently and repetitively. There have been humans who have claimed to have had affairs with dolphins, but potentially more terrifying are the videos depicting dolphins attacking innocent bystanders, including swimmers and divers. What is the truth about the dolphins? Are they actually violent animals being utilized as weapons by multiple national militaries? We know that there was an MK Ultra style study done on dolphins in the last century, but what classified projects involving dolphins are currently in progress by our US military? And for the last century, how have they been aiding us in our search for extraterrestrial life? Oh today we are talking all of the mysteries and concealed truths of what many consider to be one of the smartest species on earth, second only to humans. I love me some dolphins. Okay. Yeah. All right. Well, I think this episode may or may not change your mind. That's gonna be it's not much of a conspiracy theory, it's a lot of the mysteries around dolphins we'll talk about. So I guess that will really be our conversation is whether or not you are still a dolphin girl at the end of this. Right. Love me some dolphins. So the reason that dolphins are even being covered is that I am known within my social group as, you know, having some feelings about dolphins. Yeah. I remember reading like 15 years ago about dolphin rape. Right. And let me clarify also for the listeners that the term dolphin rape gets people very fired up. Yes, they do. Because do dolphins really, you know, follow the rules of humans, the laws of humans? No. Do they really comprehend right from wrong? We don't know. We don't accuse a dog of sexually assaulting a human because they hump our leg, right? Even though Tanner was sexually assaulted. Tanner was sexually assaulted by another dog, and I stand by that. And it was traumatic, probably more traumatic for me than for him. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm not trying to diminish anybody who was a victim of sexual assault here, right? We're trying we're we we support you all. Yeah. But I will say when you go online, there's like petitions to get rid of the terms like dolphin rape cave, and like people are like, it's not rape because even if even if a dolphin mounts a human against their will that is not rape because dolphins don't know any better. So I'm using the term rape. Yeah, apparently they're potentially smarter than humans. Yeah. That's my little disclaimer. Don't come for me. They like have sex for pleasure. Yeah. So anyway, what I remember reading like 15 years ago is that there are like 14 dolphin quote rapes per year. Okay. And that we thought this was probably actually an underestimation because people were like embarrassed not reporting them, or stormers were like going missing and never being found, and so they weren't counting. And they were like, and they have these rape caves where like they pull humans under water and they assault them, and then we just find these bodies. I'm gonna talk a little bit about the violence and the and I think some of this might stem from some truth. Okay. But it's just a kernel of truth. Okay. So trying to research this episode, after 15 years, I've finally discovered there is no evidence of these rape caves. They're so adamant about all- I still maintain, I still, after I go through this, I still maintain my stance that I dolphins are terrifying violent creatures. Okay. That has not changed. Okay, okay. I just can no longer cite this fact of there are rape caves and they are raping humans potentially 30 times a year. Oh my goodness. Okay. What I think best I can tell, because every reference I could find online to these rape caves that people were like, no, it's true, went to this YouTube video that I thought was poorly made. Looks like a child probably made it. Okay. So I see no actual factual evidence. Okay. Um doesn't pass the vibe check for Megan. No. Which means it's probably not real. There was a video that talked about how male dolphins swimming in packs of eight to twenty will take swimmers, divers, and surfers and drag them down with their dicks because they have opposable penises. Not opposable is not the right term. That's the term I use. The term is the scientific term is actually prehensile.
SPEAKER_02Is it like an elephant penis? Like, have you seen the elephants like scratch their underbellies with their penises?
SPEAKER_00They do that. No, but it sounds similar. They're able to twist and move and utilize so theoretically people were like It's like another limb? Yes. They would like twist the twist their penis around like a leg and pull you underwater. Terrifying. Yeah, I'm not sure that that's actually the method they're using. I think they are probably headbutting, ramming, push people under. There was this initial video that I think is where this came from, like 2011, 2012 or so. Okay. Uh it says that male dolphin swing in packs of eight to twenty will take swimmers, divers, or surfers and drag them down with their prehensile penises and gang rape them. Okay. And after they'd kidnapped a 37-year-old woman, scientists put a bunch of dummies in the ocean near one of the infamous raping packs. They uh put trackers on the 14 dummies. Wait, hold on.
SPEAKER_02I do want to say if dolphins can use echolocation to discover hum like fetal heart rates, can they not use echolocation for like realize this is a dummy?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they know it's a dummy. And so they they claim that all 14 of these dummies went missing, and when they tracked them, they led them to these underwater caves where they found the dummies with evidence of like um penetration and torn like torn clothing and injuries, and that there were also like corpses down there that also appeared to have been attacked. Okay. If 15 years ago I had really done a deep dive on this, I would have looked at this video and been like, this is the source that has perpetuated all of this. Right. And I would have not believed it. Okay. But for 15 years, you believed it. I believed it. Yeah. Uh, for anyone who's unfamiliar, that's what prompted this deep dive for me into dolphins. So let's give you some dolphin facts because Kate's already asking about the fact that there are more than 40 species of dolphins. They first appeared 50 million years ago, and like the whales, they walked on land. Right. Dolphins have been here millions of years longer than humans. Yeah. Humans, by contrast, didn't even begin walking upright until about five million years ago. Yeah. And our skulls were less than half the size they are now. Okay. So the skull size is important because the Natural History Museum claims that mammals have evolved to have larger brains, meaning that the brains of animals millions of years ago were quite small. So as every as the species have evolved, our brains, the species that are surviving, their brains are naturally getting larger, which they're kind of attributing to like larger brain equals smarter. Yeah. Okay. Dolphins, however, have always had large brains. In fact, their brains have actually decreased in size over time. Oh. That's what started this whole theory that dolphins and humans are probably the most intelligent species in the animal kingdom. Yeah. Okay. So I was trying to get specific statistics because also what I've always heard, and I'm still going to maintain this stance, okay, is that dolphin attacks are more common than shark attacks. Oh. Which again is misleading because we all think of embedded. I don't have actual statistics. Okay. We don't have proof-proof. No proof-proof. Okay. But I'm going to tell you some stories, and I'm still going to kind of believe it. And I think the difference too is that sharks. Sharks are scarier. Well, I think that's the thing. I mean, we just had shark week. That's what we're all great. We all grew up being like fearing the sharks in the ocean. We still fear the sharks in the ocean, to be clear. I mean, I feel like people yell shark in an ocean, probably everyone comes running and screaming. People yell dolphin and ocean, probably some idiots trying to swim with them. Right. I love seeing the dolphins in the ocean. The the little fins that come up by the water. But the difference is that so sharks, when sharks attack, it's because they feel threatened, right? It's like everything. Oh. Other animals who attack, animals attack for a number of reasons. It's like they feel threatened or for food. Yeah, they're hungry. Dolphins are like one of the only species that are like emotionally driven. Okay. So they will they will kill an animal and then just leave it behind like and not eat it. If they're like sociopathic. Well, I think if they're really as similar to humans as the scientists think, then it's also like they're probably like humans. Like there's probably a spectrum, right? There's probably like evil dolphins and nice dolphins. Right. So dolphins weigh at minimum twice as much as the average human, but they can weigh up to a thousand pounds. They can swim 15 to 25 miles per hour, but can reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. So can you imagine a 1,000-pound dolphin just ramming you at 40 miles per hour? Die. Yeah. Well, they people have died. Yeah. Yeah. Violence. They're one of the few breeds that will kill for sport, not just feeding. They have seen dolphin corpses wash ashore with spinal deformities and trauma, indicating that they think other dolphins have killed them. Bullies. Dolphins can stay awake for five days straight because they have, you know, two sides of their brain and they'll turn off one brain, one side of the brain, and use the other, and then it'll switch. So they can stay awake for up to five days and then they don't need like if we stay up for a long period of time, we like crash, right? Yeah. They don't do that. They don't need a nap to recover. What? Yeah. So they can just honestly be awake hunting.
SPEAKER_02Maybe that's why maybe they get a little delirious, Megan. And then they're like Well, they also like to play with these puffer fish.
SPEAKER_00Oh. So I'm gonna talk briefly about some of the studies that are poisonous. You know, because puffer fish are poisonous. Yes, exactly. Yeah. So I'm gonna talk about some of the studies that humans have done where they've tried to give like LSD and drugs to these dolphins. Yeah. And they don't feel like the dolphins seem to respond the same way as humans. Okay. But they do know dolphins will take these toxic puffer fish and they will like use like a beach ball to play with it, pass it back and forth. And when a puffer fish is being threatened, feeling threatened, it releases this dangerous substance that then dolphins ingest and it puts them in like this trance, and they said it makes them look high, and there's like they they think that they're high. There was some dolphin who was like they assumed high, and they had he was like looking at his reflection, and he was just like staring at his reflection for hours. Um it's like, yeah, we think they can get bro, bruh.
SPEAKER_02You know what I could go for right now? Some Captain Crunch Serial. They're like, yo, you know who's got a puffer fish right now? And then they're like, Petey. Yeah. And they're like, let's go play. Yeah. Yeah. You're probably right. Yeah. If they're this intelligent, then they know. Yeah. They know exactly what and then somehow they're kill they are like talking to the other dolphins and saying, Find you a pufferfish, man. Yeah. Yeah. Trafficking the pufferfish.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So male dolphins will team up and they will herd the female dolphin away from the pod and then with their you know half-ton body going 40 miles per hour, they will beat the female into submission until they get to have their way with them. Then all of the men take a turn. And this can go on for days. What? That's awful. Yep. Bream biologists have also observed males killing other infants within the like pod to make sure that their offspring are more likely to survive. Wow.
SPEAKER_02But you know what? A lot that happens a lot in the animal kingdom. Uh, lions, like male lions will try and kill the cubs. Um it does happen a lot. Like males do actually attack the young. Yeah. Hyenas, they're another one. Monkeys, they'll rip each other apart. They're it's just it is a dog eat dog world out there, you know. But you know, it's not okay that they're gangbanging. No. That's not okay. No.
SPEAKER_00Justice for the female dolphin. Right. So somebody scientists are like, you know what? Like, we can't judge their mating rituals and like what what they do is not what we do, you know. Are the females just so upset while they're doing this? Because that would just kill me. Yeah, I mean it it sounds like they're trying to get away until it's like they just can't, and then they just I'll tell you how they've adapted. Okay. And they have a corkscrew vagina. What? I'll tell you about it. Okay. But I guess that gets to like the these are also scientists, like dolphins are just like one of the most sexual species. Uh-huh. I don't really understand, I guess, how other species mate. I didn't know that you could mate without like gratification. I thought that's why it was like a baser instinct. Apparently, most species do not get sexual gratification out of mating. It's like purely appropriation. It's just a job that they do. Right. But apparently, dolphins do experience quite a bit of pleasure. Okay. In fact, there is video evidence of dolphins using live wriggling eels to wrap around their genitals and pleasure themselves. Oh, so like masturbating. Yeah. Dolphin porn. Because they don't have arms. Yeah. Yeah. They also will make their own fleshlights by ripping the heads off of fish. Ew. They have video evidence of this. No. There were some rumors that they all they might also pleasure themselves in each other's blowholes. Ew. But that has that was actually fact-checked by a TikToker. Okay. Who said TikTok is my source, but this TikToker said he did a deep dive, and while he could find video evidence of the eels and the fish, no video evidence of this blowhole. Okay. So it's well, I feel like it would be kind of like it's like cutting off the way they're breathed, right? I mean, but yeah, they have a prehensile penis, like I said, meaning it can swivel, grab, and grope, much like a human hand. Uh it helps them navigate the complex labyrinth-like reproductive tracks of female dolphins. So females have these like corkscrew-like vaginas, apparently. They think that this was a way of them adapting, being like, all these men are just going to assault me, and I want to have a say in who my baby daddy is. Do they use it to grab onto the penis? Well, so it's sort of got multiple functions. They think that it, because there's no arms or legs or anything, they're like swimming and trying to procreate, trying to or trying to mate, right? Right. That like having this quirksture and this prehensile penis kind of helps them stay attached. Right. But they also think it might allow females to be able to avoid mating with a particular male. So like they can so she can reposition herself during copulation and steer the sperm into a dead space. There's like folds. Oh. And so if she's like, I don't want the sperm to eat my egg. Yeah. So anyway, it's they think it's some way of females having control over who gets to like sire their offspring. Oh, okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_02So I just wanted to tell you that when you talked about dolphins trying to swim and also copulate, it was the first time that I really ever had that thought. Yeah. I'm like, I've never thought about.
SPEAKER_00So there's videos, they're generally belly to belly. Interesting. That's the dolphin on dolphin. Let's briefly talk some dolphin on human and then I'll give you a little history. All right. So dolphins have been known to assault humans, like I said. Okay. And there are a lot of videos I did watch online. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Of like to say, it was Colleen missing this is probably best. So she would have been so in here.
SPEAKER_00I was so upset that Colleen had to schedule her trip to the Burbida Triangle the same week we were scheduled to record dolphins because I was like, this will be so up her alley. But you're probably right. We would just like we could not stay on track.
SPEAKER_02We would not have been able to stay on track. No.
SPEAKER_00But there are so many videos I did watch these of like divers getting assaulted. There's one guy who talks about how he could feel the prehensile penis wrapping around his leg and pulling him down. Oh no. Mostly there's some videos of females, like again, there's just a lot of videos where you can see that these dolphins try to get frisky and they're trying to get away. And can you imagine again trying to get away from these massive sea creatures? And then if you tick them off, they just start ramming you and pushing you deeper and deeper and deeper. They think dolphins know that humans can't like breathe underwater. Yeah. And I mean, that's like worst fear, right? Just like someone forcing you down to dark depths of water you can't breathe, and they're just ramming you. Okay. So there are there are videos of this happening on that.
SPEAKER_02I think what's scarier about like the animals trying to, you know, copulate with us is that they know. Like the intelligence is scary. It's premeditated attacks. Yeah. They have a plan. And they're executing that plan. Yeah. I don't like this, Megan. I want to be a dolphin girl. Yeah, I want to be Kate from the 90s with her Lisa Frank folders and her dolphins, okay? I don't want to know about this. I'm sorry. This is opening a brand new world of information, and I don't like it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, let me give you a couple of the recent, a couple of the reports I found. So in Japan, there was an article in August 2023, Japan Today, and it says that off this Pacific coast there were six people injured in a series of dolphin attacks in the year prior. Uh-huh. And that in a separate beach town there had been seven dolphin attacks. Oh my goodness. In one case, a man in his 60s suffered broken ribs when a dolphin rammed into him. Oh no. And the Coast Guard urged swimmers to immediately get out of the water if you see any dolphins. There was this uh dolphin named Tao off the coast of Brazil. And everyone said he was really friendly to female swimmers. Um there was this man, Joao, and apparently this dolphin attacked him and killed him. Uh to be fair, witnesses said that Joao was intoxicated and might have been trying to force a cigarette into the dolphin's blowhole. So he sounds like a real dick, but deserves to die. But they're saying shoves a cigarette in a in a yeah in a dolphin's blowhole, deserves to die. But this dolphin they think is responsible for hospitalizing 28 other people by attacking them almost exclusively male swimmers. He hates the men. So they think that maybe he was just territorial. I think he's gonna go swimming with their swimming with their uh dolphins to the dolphins here.
SPEAKER_02I do I do have a question. Do male dolphins hate on other male dolphins?
SPEAKER_00Like, is there like a hierarchy? Well, it seems like they instead of instead of being like my takeaway, did you know that gorilla testicles are super tiny because there's not a lot of competition?
SPEAKER_02Like there's more females in the pack, tribe, whatever they are, and like they don't have like the females want to have sex with them, but chimpanzee testicles are huge because they are constantly competing for the female attention, so you gotta impress them. Yeah, and they're they're trying to get it in as much as they can. Interesting. Yeah. So gorillas have small testicles. Thank you for that fun fact. Yeah, I listened to a podcast about it. I was like, whoa, whoa.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, my what what it sounds like from my research is that even though they're like killing offspring, you know, like I you would think that it would be like, yeah, competition for the females and I'm gonna off these other men. Yeah, like FLDS style. Yeah. It doesn't it sounds like they kind of just cooperatively work together to try to gangbang them. Yeah. That's female. That's wrong. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02We need to we need to march for that. What fem female dolphin rights? Female dolphin rights. Okay. No oppression. Yeah. For the dolphins.
SPEAKER_00Let's talk about some oppressed people. Yeah. People. Some oppressed groups. Yeah. Dolphin females. Yeah. I'm gonna take a brief break. Don't worry, it's going to get back to the sexual desires of the dolphins. Okay. But we're gonna take a brief break to give you a little history lesson. Oh. Let me tell you about John Lilly. Have you heard of him? Have you heard of him? No. I haven't. He was a physician, neuroscientist, psychoanalyst, philosopher, writer, and inventor. He first entered the public eye in the 1950s when he developed wait for it, Kate. You're gonna like this. Okay. The isolation tank. Is this sound fictional? Familiar? He served as a physician in World War II, and then in 1954, while employed by the Public Health Service Commissioned Officer Corps, he began investigating how sensory deprivation could impact consciousness. He created a dark, soundproof tank, filled it with warm salt water, and then blocked out all sound and light. Initially, so he started it. He would like get in there and he would like meditate, and then he was like, I'm gonna take some LSD. Yeah. This guy was into all the LSD. All the psychic and he hung out with all the other LSD guys. Yeah. So then so then he'd get in it and with LSD and just yeah. So during that first experience with LSD in the tank, I quickly found that it was very easy to leave the body and go into new spaces. The lack of distracting stimuli allowed me to program any sort of a trip that I could conceive of. This freedom from the external reality was taken as a very positive point, not a negative one. What you go anywhere that one could imagine what could go. I traveled through my brain watching the neurons and their activities. Whoa. But didn't you say that sometimes people never get off the trip?
SPEAKER_02No, so like I don't know where it's stored, but it's like kind of like a you don't have a virus, like zoster will be sort stored. Oh, we're gonna talk about zoster in this episode. Oh, really?
SPEAKER_00Um but like if you like crack your back a certain way, like people can like trip again. Can you just imagine being like okay, you were like in your 20s and the 70s, you do Lil L's D, now you're like 50, 60, not now, but like then then decades go by, you're like a successful human being with like responsibilities, yeah, and then all of a sudden you just like BAM trip. Yeah. Wild. That's how John Lilly got his start. John Lilly was fascinated by dolphins and discovered that they had a 30% larger brain than humans, and he wondered if they were as intelligent as humans. Apparently, brain-to-body ratio was also a measure of intelligence, and he discovered that dolphins were second only to humans in the brain-to-body ratio. Oh. So in the 1950s, he felt like a dolphin he was studying was attempting to talk to him. He wrote the book Man and Dolphin, in which he talked about the possibility that dolphins could one day be our peers and interact with us. No. He envisioned dolphins being trained in deep sea rescue and ocean floor cartographers. I think he made some comment like, Can you imagine a dolphin sitting like a NATO with us?
SPEAKER_02No, I can't. Because you know why? They can't come out of the water that quick that much. Wait, what if they evolve back to land?
SPEAKER_00That's no, they like the water. I feel like Well, he saw dolphins as a dry run for interspecies communication with extraterrestrials. Lily's reasonings included that if humans could not grasp interspecies communication on Earth, how would we ever talk to aliens?
SPEAKER_02So he's saying that in order to commune with aliens, we need to take a little trip with acid, get into So this will start with acid, but acid is coming.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. Okay. So the isolation tank is like two decades before, a decade or two before this. That's just how we got to start. That's when he rose to fame. The isolation tank, he's doing LSD experiments experiments. Meanwhile, he's also like, he's a dolphin boy and he's into dolphins. Dolphin bra. And he's like, he's like, bro. He said he was like talking to another scientist, and then he felt like this dolphin that they were watching was like trying to talk back to them. He may have been on LSD at that point. I don't know. Yeah. And so that's when he was like, wait a minute, could we communicate with dolphins? And then he said, if our goal is to some point talk to aliens, like we're gonna have at some point we'll have to master interspecies communication. We need to we need to master it with the dolphin. So dolphins could be our dry run. Okay. Okay. Right. Not dogs. He writes this book, and one of the people who reads this book where he's talking about this is Dr. Frank Drake. Not to be confused with Dr. Dre. No. Dr. Drake. Dr. Frank Drake. Drake. Sounds like a soap star. Yeah, it does. So he reads Dr. Lily's book and he's like, yes. Wait, if we could talk to dolphins, maybe we could talk to aliens. He's like on an alien hunt. Right. Okay. So he gets NASA to invest in the dolphins. In the dolphins. Okay. All right. To support this project that for Dr. Lily. NASA funds them building a secret lab in St. Thomas. Okay. And it was initially like an office space that was a kind of on like um risers, and then there was like an outdoor pool. And so they said they'd put dolphins in this pool, and then whenever the tide would come in, it would just like fill the pool with the ocean water. Okay. So that was the initial plan. And they're researching them. At the same time, Margaret Howe Lovett, a 22-year-old who was working in like a hotel in St. Thomas. Okay. She was a dolphin girl. Oh, okay. And she'd been hearing rumors about this lab. So she just like no notice them. She shows up at the lab one day and she's like, Can I study these dolphins? So initially she was kind of hanging out, and then they hired her to try to teach these dolphins to speak English. Okay. Is this the girl that lived in the apartment with the dolphins? That's where it's going. Okay, all right. We know that dolphins don't have vocal cords. They don't have vocal cords. Dolphins do not possess vocal cords. They speak with whistles, squeaks, and trills. They click, right? So she worked with Peter, a young male dolphin. Okay. And he seemed to imitate her voice and intonations, but he did not develop language. So then Margaret was like, you know, it's really hard because I come here during the day and then I leave and we just like lose all of our progress. Right. So can I move in? Let's build me an apartment. I'm gonna live with Peter for six months. Okay. They think that's a great idea. So they built her an apartment. It has like a desk that hangs from the ceiling. It has a bed on a platform. It's like waist deep water. So Peter can just swim around and she's living with him. Okay. It's not weird at all. Not weird at all. No. For sure. How did she bathe and or use the bathroom? There was she probably got to exit this little Do you think she peed in the water? Oh god I oh god. That would be probably do you think then she's lived in it? Well, I don't know. So NASA did come and like check on things and they were not happy with what was happening. Oh a little inappropriate. Yeah. Okay. And they tried to be they tried to kind of like change his the falls in love with this dolphin, right? The dolphin falls in love with her. Oh, but it's not reciprocal. There's a different, there's a different man who falls in love with the dolphin. Oh, okay, okay. Yeah, that was fine. Uh anyway, NASA's kind of pissed about the lack of progress, but Margaret persevered. But she said the problem was he like just couldn't focus. He was like a horny little adolescent dolphin. Yeah. And so she'd be trying to teach him and he would just start rubbing against her trying to pleasure himself. She said that at first, whenever he got frisky, they would like lift him into this tank with some female dolphins and like let him hang with them for a while, but that they were just losing too much research time with the whole process of like moving him back and forth from the tanks. And so then she decided she would just take care of things herself. No. And then that way they could focus on the study. How did she take care of things herself?
SPEAKER_02Just a hand. No, she didn't. No, she didn't. She did. And she talked very openly about this.
SPEAKER_00That is absolutely that is the most embarrassing thing to a cop too. Let me tell I'm gonna tell you a little bit about the man who's telling his story about his relationship with, and I'm like, I cannot believe anybody A would do this, and then B would like tell the world they did it. No, exactly.
SPEAKER_02Like you should be ashamed by you should be so this is like when I'm like, guys, things should be kept secret for a reason.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Okay. We don't have to share everything. No. So Lily, again, we know he's a hippie's into LSD, so he was like, again, got NASA on my back. Maybe if we give Peter LSD, then this will expand his conscience and he'll do better. Oh. Okay. Uh didn't he would dose himself and Peter, but Peter never showed evidence of LSD effects. Uh and then because of course they both need to.
SPEAKER_02I mean, he was just he was just on LSD all the time. Yeah, okay. So then how do you know that it's true that Peter never saw the effects? Because he was on a trip of his own. Oh, I just assume there were other researchers that are.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, I guess. But I don't know. Uh regardless, researchers were like, this got out of hand. We're done with you, John Lily. So this project gets shut down. Peter just a bunch of freaks is separated from Margaret. Yeah. And he's so heartbroken he kills himself. Because here's the thing dolphins, here's how dolphins commit suicide. They just go down to the bottom of the ocean and they choose they can choose not to breathe. What? And so he went down to the bottom of the to the bottom of his tank and just refused to surface and take a breath and died of a broken heart.
SPEAKER_02That's so sad. Oh no, but dolphins don't mate for life. Probably not if they're just doing it. Gang banging. Yeah. But this guy wanted to mate for life. He loved him.
SPEAKER_00He was like, I love Margaret. Yeah. And then apparently Margaret went on. I was reading recently. Margaret went on to marry a man, and John Lily let her move back into this apartment. Her she lived with her husband and her children for many years in St. Thomas in the same water apartment. No. Yeah. Water world. Just went back to the place where it all started. Yeah. With Peter. With Peter. Yeah. So this her argument here is that she he was just again a horny dolphin and she wanted him to focus to do these studies. Yeah. Okay. We got a man who came out and wrote a book about his love affair with a dolphin. Okay. Bestiality. Beestiality. Okay. In the 1970s, this guy, Brenner, he was a college sophomore. He was uh in school in Florida and he was a photographer. He was taking he like went to um this theme park, Florida land, which no longer exists, and they let him take photos. He was gonna make a book about this dolphin show. Okay. Say they let him hang out for hours in some of the dolphins. Okay. And he fell in love with a dolphin named Dolly. He said she would rub her genital slit against me, and if I tried to push her away, she would get very angry with me. One time when she wanted to masturbate on my foot and I wouldn't let her, she threw herself on top of me and pushed me down to the 12 foot bottom of the pool. At first I discouraged her. I wasn't interested. After some time I thought, if this was a woman, would I come up with these rationalizations and excuses? Then he says that Dolly became more aggressive. I found that extraordinarily erotic. It's like being with a tiger or a bear. This is an animal that could kill you in two seconds if it wanted to. Eventually they had sex. Ew. He says he was vertical, she was horizontal. I just thought, in case you, I just figured you might be you might be wondering. Yeah, no, well, now I'm looking. I'm uh and then he says, after we made love, the dolphin put her snout on my shoulder, embraced me with her flippers, and we stared into each other's eyes. No. Was this man also on acid? No. This affair goes on for nine months. No. And then they closed down the park, and so Dolly got moved to Mississippi, where she also submerged, did not come up for air, and died. Oh. He wrote a book about this called Wet Goddess. Ew, no, no, not that name. And apparently he's been married twice. Nothing ever, nothing. There's someone for everyone. And he came out with this book because Bestialdi was not outlawed in Florida until 2011. So he could talk about this. He says he also at one point had an affair with a dog. So let's go back to Lily, though, because again, he got shut down now, so it's like we're not gonna fund them. Right. Okay. So decades after new technologies emerged, like the Catacian Hearing and Telemetry Device. Today, people are still building on Lily's research. We've got the SETI Institute. This is a nonprofit research organization located in the Silicon Valley, close to the NASA Research Center. Okay. And their mission is to lead humanity's quest to understand the origins and prevalence of life and intelligence in the universe and share that knowledge with the world. Okay. There are over a hundred scientists who work for SETI, and one of them, Lawrence Doyle, focuses on extrasolar planets and communication. He applies statistical analysis technique. I read all these articles about this. It was like way too complicated for me, but pretty much what I gathered is that he uses statistics to like research language to determine how complex language is. And so, and he does things by looking at like, for example, A is probably one of the more commonly used words in our language, right? Yeah. He looks at like frequency that words are used and how, and somehow he determines like complexity. Okay. And so he said that based on this dolphin communication is highly complex with many similarities with human language. So even if we don't understand the words they're saying to one another, they think our language is similar. He thinks that they understand like um time. Oh yeah. Like past. Like dogs don't understand time. Right. Or they don't like when they talk to like monkeys, monkeys seem to understand time. But if you say like this time tomorrow, I will have eaten that banana. Oh, yeah. And like the fact that you're talking about like future and then past, like they can't comprehend that. Okay. And they think he thinks they understand intonation, like like when you're asking a question. Inflection of voice and stuff like that. They apparently dolphins understand that. Oh.

And then there's so there's this Denise Herzig was spending summers with a pod in the Bahamas for decades, and she was working with other scientists to create this cetacean, hearing, and telemetry device. It sounds like kind of an underwater speaker with headphones that a diver would wear. And the premise was again, we now know dolphins lack vocal cords, so they can't really replicate human language, like maybe a parrot could. Yeah. And we know they communicate with whistles. So I think what they're trying to do is take out, instead of like us trying to teach them English or us trying to figure out what they're saying, like let's create like a third language, is my understanding. Like we're both trying to communicate through a different language that neither one of us speaks. Right. And so they use this program. That that makes sense. Right. Um you have to teach the dolphin a new language, too. Right. So we're gonna we're teaching them how to communicate with like whistles and that sounds that they can make and they're like they're like, this is an apple. Right. Science. That was kind of the end of my story. Just the fact that these studies are still going on, they're still working on trying, it's been over half a century, and they're still trying to speak to the dolphins. Yeah. But they claim they're getting closer and they have a different technique. We're no longer dosy the disagree. I disagree. It doesn't sound like a officer. Yeah. They're just trying different techniques. Yeah. Now, remember how I said previously that Lily envisioned utilizing dolphins for warfare. Uh-huh. In 1960, the Navy's marine mammal program began. Allegedly, its primary goal was research. But they also trained dolphins, whales, and sea lions to deliver equipment underwater, locate retrieve objects, guard boats and subs, and do underwater surveillance. They were used like this during Vietnam, and though mostly classified, the project peaked during the Cold War. In the eighties, during the Gulf War, the Navy sent six dolphins to the Persian Gulf where they patrolled the harbor in Bahrain to protect U.S. flagships from enemy swimmers and mines and escorted Kuwaiti oil tankers through potentially dangerous waters. Okay. Like guard dogs. Yeah. For decades. Well good for that's best case scenario is guard dogs because there's kind of some questionable other sketches.
SPEAKER_02Wait, wait, question. Are they like flipping sides? Like, how do we know they're loyal? Oh yeah. It could be spies. Yeah, are they spies? Oh man, can't you?

SPEAKER_02We don't know. Yeah. We can't communicate with them. No. Oh. We can't be like this guy bad. And they're like they're like, oh. This is our friend. Yeah. Yeah. What if they've got a hot girl on the other side? And they're like, you know, we know they're easily persuaded.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, you could probably flip sides like that. So cool. Flip sides like that. Llippity flip. Um so one of these dolphins, Skippy, died of a bacterial infection. And so it kind of brought people, animal rights people out, and they were angry. PETA PETA. I didn't think it was. In the late 80s, there were lawsuits against the government alleging that they were harming the dolphins by capturing and relocating them. A judge ruled they needed to do more research before continuing their project. All of a sudden, the government's like, we're going to declassify some of the projects we were doing, but not all of them. Right. No. Classified projects. And we're going to kind of de-escalate the programs. Like, don't worry, we hear you. We're not going to do things anymore. Yeah, definitely not. Likely story. Right. For sure. Everything's still next. Everything's fine, guys. Here's what we now know. The Soviet Navy also had a dolphin program where they wore weaponized harnesses and attacked human enemies. Then last year, satellite images revealed the Russian Navy used dolphins to defend a naval base on the Black Sea during the invasion of Ukraine. Whoa. So while we don't have all the details, we do know that there's been this has been a decades-long program because it started before Russia was Russia. Wild. Yeah. They're like, I am. That's bananas. That's bananas. The the Soviets have all this dolphin program going on. Obviously, the Russians still have dolphins. But when USSR fell, they had to get rid of some of these dolphins. So guess who they sold them to? America. Iran. What for? I don't know. There have also been allegations of Israel. Now this is sort of a conspiracy theory. I don't think there's any evidence for this. Okay. But there are allegations that Israel weaponized dolphins with spear gun harnesses. What? Alright, so that's kind of all I have. Oh, I did a fun fact I um also learned today is that they have discovered that dolphins have STDs. I am not surprised. They have gunneria. Genital herpes. Where'd they get it from? That's what I want to know. Yeah. Who was patient zero? That's what I want to know. Did they give it to humans? Oh my god. Like where do how do we know humans are the ones that started it? Either either way, it's like, well, yeah, how how are you getting cross species contamination? Yeah. The reason, but we're supposed this is supposed to be a good thing. Okay. Because this means that they are currently studying the dolphins in order to try to find a cure for herpes in humans. Oh. So let's study the animals. Yeah. Uh, because apparently there's a lot of animals. I think there's also it's like monkeys get syphilis, or although we know how to treat syphilis. Yeah. Um I feel like monkeys would get herpes too. So my big takeaway at the end of this is that most of the stories that I told you about dolphins weren't true. I have not been able to validate. Okay. But I maintain they are very sexually motivated animals that are very violent. Yeah. And I still don't ever want to swim with them, and I still don't think anyone should be swimming with them. And I will still run from them if I see them in the water. Okay. Um, like I said earlier, I think that if they're really as intelligent as humans as they're claiming, then maybe there's just good guys and bad guys, like for humans, you know. But then if that's a spectrum of But if that's the case, then we can't say you can't have it both ways. You can't say that they're not like a higher level thinkers and therefore can't be blamed for like gang raping their women and attacking humans. Right. But then also be like, well, they're like humans. We have good guys and bad guys. Like you can't have it both ways. No. Um They want to be held accountable for their crimes. Yeah. How are they gonna how are we gonna do that?
SPEAKER_02Put them send them to SeaWorld if they're send yes, send them to SeaWorld or send them to the ocean floor. Put them down in a cave.

SPEAKER_02And then I wonder if it's really like like what is their breakdown, male to female ratios. Yeah, I do wonder that too. Like, are they do the males only kill female offspring? What do you think? Are you still a dolphin girl? Um, I think would you let Joey swim with a dolphin? No. I would not let Joey swim with the dolphins. I would maybe let her like hang over the side and pet him, you know, with a trainer there. But no. I also think it's very weird that this woman any man just had relations with a dolphin. That's very weird. That should not be normalized. No. Draw the line. Um, but I do think it's interesting that dolphins have brains like like humans, and it's it's scary that like they're this that intelligent. They could just be down there conspiring. Yeah, maybe they're conspiring with the aliens. The USOs. Yeah. Maybe they're the aliens.

SPEAKER_02No. But didn't they come here on a meteor? That is a thought. Okay, tell me more. So octopi are some of the most mysterious creatures on earth with their extraordinary intelligence, complex behaviors, and mind-boggling abilities. But what if these enigmatic beings aren't just bizarre animals, but something far more extraordinary? Alien life forms, perhaps? The theory that octopi could be extraterrestrial in origin has gained traction among some scientists and researchers due to the strikingly unusual features of these animals, with their highly advanced cognitive abilities, ability to alter their physical appearance and genetic makeup that seems at odds with typical Earth organisms. Could octopi be a product of another world sent to Earth by cosmic forces or arriving here via ancient forgotten means.

SPEAKER_02Let's talk a little bit about the biology of this is your wheelhouse case. Yes. Tell us about the bio. Okay. So did you guys know that Octopi have three hearts? Oh. This is familiar. Yeah. Octophi have three hearts and they have one heart that like does m main circulation throughout their body. And then they have two smaller hearts that are set next to the gills. And I feel like those are the ones that are like oxygenating, like doing the oxygenation, and maybe at some point they make the main heart. Whereas our heart is situated right next to our lungs and it's kind of works together. Right. Um, they have nine brains. I think this is something you guys know. Oh, nine brains. Yeah. And they have one central brain. Right. And then in each of their tentacles, so eight tentacles, they have independent brains, but they don't function independently from the centralized brain. So in my head, I'm thinking it's sort of like a spinal cord. Each arm that an octopus has has 200 suckers on them. Ooh. And they are as sensitive as a fingertip, a nose, and a tongue put together. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Immediately I have my fingertips by my nose and mouth.
SPEAKER_02Like they can smell as sensitive to a sm nose, taste as sensitive to a tongue, and touch as sensitive to a fingertip.
SPEAKER_04Gosh, that the over Can you imagine if they're overstimulated?
SPEAKER_02And a suction cup. Each suction cup. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh my God. I'd be going insane all the time. Don't touch me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Think about if they had sensory disorders.
SPEAKER_01It would be so much. I'd be crying.
SPEAKER_02Um, they can change their appearance up to 170 times per hour.
SPEAKER_01Whoa.
SPEAKER_02They can stretch their skin. How do they change super wide and super long, so they can like become longer, but then their legs can like like literally become wider and their their skin becomes like super transparent.
SPEAKER_01That's how they break in and out of the cages.
SPEAKER_02They are what's called cephalopods. So a cephalopod is um a class of like marine mullets, and this label applies to more than just octopi. You have squ squids, cattlefishes, and nautiluses are also cephalopods. I don't know what a nautilus or a cuttlefish is. So the word cephalopod um literally in the Greek means head foot, and it's fitting for description for these animals because they have multiple appendages extending directly from their heads. Octopi have the largest and most developed brains and nervous system out of all of the invertebrates. They have an ink sac that they usually use if they're like in danger. They will ink.
SPEAKER_03And then run.
SPEAKER_02And it'll you, it's like a dis it's like a, you know, like when the bad guys like throw the smoke bomb down and then they disappear. That's like what an ink, what their ink does, is like they ink and then they disappear and it confuses their so funny. Yeah. And it's made the ink is made up of like mucus and melanin, which is like how our skin is and nails and hair are pictures.
SPEAKER_01And they just grow that.
SPEAKER_03Well, I think it's probably like do we just call it ink because it looks like ink, but it's not technically because it's made up of what you just said. I wonder if anybody's ever like stolen it to write with it. This is an octopus ink pen. I also wonder what it smells like.
SPEAKER_01Probably smells bad. Yes, it is possible to write with squid ink.
SPEAKER_00Squid ink. Though it's not the same as modern pen ink. But yes, cuttlefish ink has been used for writing and drawing for centuries.
SPEAKER_02The quill pen and calligraphy brushes. Maybe that's why I knew of the word. The common octopus also has a two-part beak.

SPEAKER_02Like underneath their They bite. They do. Yeah. And they can like break things. Um that's how they eat their crabs and they like crunch them up and they love crabs. That's their feet. Me too. Yeah. Um the beak is mostly made of chitten.

SPEAKER_02Um, and it's indigestible. So if like a predator comes and eats a like an octopus, then they can tell because it's indigestible, so it'll just like stit sit in their system. That's weird. Yeah. What eats octopus?
SPEAKER_03Sharks. Oh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, lionfish. Megalodons.
SPEAKER_04Megalodons.
SPEAKER_02Flounder.
SPEAKER_04Flounder eat octopi? Yeah. Flounder get that big?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And like from neat from bottom crawlers, baby.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Octopi are older than dinosaurs. Did you guys know this? They've just been they've existed since before they existed. Oh. They were here before the dinosaurs.
SPEAKER_00So you're trying to tell me the megalodon could not survive, you know, the ice age. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yet the octopi has survived the octopus octopus. Three Armageddons. Oh my gosh, they are, you guys.
SPEAKER_04How do we age them? How do we know they're age? Do you know that?
SPEAKER_02I'm dating.
SPEAKER_04Oh.
SPEAKER_02So in 198 1998, scientists found um a fossil in Montana's Bear Gulch Limestone Formation. And the fossil was approximately 330 million years old, um, which means that it was the octopi had been here before the dinosaurs, era of the dinosaurs. And for reference, dinosaurs lived during the tri Triassic period, which was roughly 245 to 233 million years ago, until the end of the Cretaceous period, which is about 66 million years ago. So octopi lived a hundred million years before the Whoa. Isn't that wild? They are resilient. They are like code is wild.
SPEAKER_01They saw Pangea, right?
SPEAKER_02Maybe. I don't know. When when did Pangea exist? I love plate tectonics. I should know this. So actually, the scientists were like really excited because as one knows, a cephalopod is an invertebrate and they do not have any bones. Right. So it is very hard, as we referenced with our sharks. Sharks like to find hard to date where when they came from because they, unless you date with their teeth, because they don't have any bones, there's no fossils of sharks. It's very hard to fossilize an animal who doesn't have any bones. And so scientists were very excited about this. But this fossil was 4.7 inches, um, and it had 10 limbs, which modern octopi, maybe this is what you're thinking about. Modern octopi um only have eight, and each of its arms had two rows of suckers. Um, and it's most likely lived in like a shallow tropical bay. Um, this creature they said was a vampiropod.
SPEAKER_03A vampire?
SPEAKER_02It's yeah, that's how vampiropod. It's not a vampire. No, it's just an ancient ancestor of octopus and um squid. So this is a fun fact uh about this fossil. It's named a very interesting uh word that I cannot say spell it up, but yeah, after Joe Biden. It wasn't Joe Biden, it was named after President Joe Biden in 1998. So I don't even know like what was he doing atstead.
SPEAKER_04Oh, he was boin back then. Boin as hell.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Octopi are masters of disguise, so they can change their shape and color and texture in a fraction of a second, like literally a fifth of a second. They can change all of that about themselves. Um, they can choose to hide and like when to hide and when to reveal themselves. The brains are directly connected to their skin, and those muscles in their skin is directly connected to 200 million sacks of different color pigments, which means basically they can choose an endless variety of like patterns and colors and textures to like change into in a fraction of a second. Wild. They can also, um, I've already said this, but they can also stretch, stretch their skin super wide. Um, and this is kind of like a defense mechanism because it helps it literally is supposed to make them look weird and they do look weird, and it's to freak out their predators and the predator be like, what is that? Do I want to eat that? And make themselves look why they do it, make themselves look weird. Like, what? How do they have this thought process? Also, remember all the times I've told you that they can change into different colors so they can like they go into this coral and they make themselves look like the coral. Right. So the coral octopi are colorblind.
SPEAKER_03How do they know what colors they're picking?
SPEAKER_02Exactly.
SPEAKER_03How do we know they're colorblind?
SPEAKER_02They're colorblind in their eyes, they but they use their little suckers to see. They they sense light through their skin.
SPEAKER_03And color's just light.
SPEAKER_02It's not like yeah, right. What they basically they see through their skin. They're super intelligent. So they've scientists have actually witnessed Octopi like using tools. Um and but like the correct way, like yeah. For example, like they'll find a coconut husk and and like use it to hide themselves under. Or um they've demonstrated using like like opening lids on the job.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, they can completely open a peanut butter jar.

SPEAKER_03Um and close it.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and they can from inside.
SPEAKER_03I've seen that.
SPEAKER_02It's crazy. They also require a lot of like physical and mental stimulation. So if they're not getting a lot of stimulation, they'll just play with their food. Like terrorize their living sociopath.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. That's what my old cat used to do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they have like tons of personality, but um, they're often like mischievous. Also, there was this famous octopus called Inky. Inky, that's not like something I would name. He escaped from the National Aquarium of New Zealand, which makes me think of finding Nemo. He escaped in the dead of night by opening his own tank and slipping through the drain on the floor. He just left. He's like, I'm done. Um, they've also been known to like squirt jets of water at people or like punch um other octopi who were like annoying them. There's like a famous like just he's just a bully. Yeah, they're funny. There was also an octopus named Paul. Paul? Yeah, I know, I know you love this. His name was Paul.
SPEAKER_04I like that. That's like the third eye monkey in Jimmy Neutron.
SPEAKER_02Ah, I'm Paul. Um, and between 2008 and 2010, they asked this octopus right, like verbally, and you pick the winners of these FIFA games. And he 14 times I asked him this. And he picked it 12 times he was correct. Oh. So he had an 85.7% accuracy rate.

SPEAKER_02Isn't that weird? Like he knew that's weird.
SPEAKER_04Like he had alien skills. What made them think let's ask the let's ask the squid.

SPEAKER_02Male and female. So octopi typically they lay their eggs. Okay, so yes, they they don't have a uterus, they don't like carry their babies inside of them. So each male has a specialized mating arm. Right. Yeah, it looks what I mean. Different than the other arms. So wait, they have eight arms, but one arm is also a penis.

Well, they can't just read it, because how did they get rid of all the sperm? They've been doing something because they've been ejecting sperm. Right. So I think they want I I think they decide when they want to have eggs.

They have all these special powers that no other animal has. And it's an invertebrate. Like they're typically not very smart. Pause. It says after laying eggs, the female octopi enter a death spiral where they stop eating and just waste away. Every time, no matter what. And they might even start tearing at their own skin and biting their own arms. They have a they have a gland that's like repituitary gland. And so after they lay their eggs, it like switches. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01This is like the most severe case of postpartum depression.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's true. Oh okay. What if we gave them some SR SSRI? SSRIs for everybody, is what I say. So their genetic code, this is really the the kicker. Okay. Okay. There's I didn't hear anything about them coming over on a meteor or anything like that. But basically their genetic code is so complex. It's more complex than ours.

SPEAKER_02It's considered that it's so complex it's considered like out of this world. So there was a big project called the Octopus Genome Project, where they did a huge undertaking to kind of try and map out the octopi DNA. It took pa place with researchers of the University of Chicago. And they also worked with the Okinawa Institute of Tech Science and Technology in Japan to kind of break down this genome. And together, they were able to kind of unlock these genes. This, like, when I when we say genetic code, we know that on each chromosome has a different genetic code that that is responsible for different things in our body. The color of our eyes, the, you know, the color of our hair, how tall we're gonna be, all of these things. Um, but the genetic code, we have about 23,000 as humans. Octopi have 33,000 genes. They have that much more.
SPEAKER_01They're more complex and allegedly the smartest creatures.
SPEAKER_04Are there any other animals that have the similar amount?
SPEAKER_02No. This is it sets them apart from the invertebrates. Like they aren't they aren't an invertebrate. They have similar sets of genes that can be found in humans um that kind of like make up their their neurons and their neural network, like if their brain and which can account for like how intelligent they are, how they can use certain jars and you know, whatever. And they also like have a large brain that's like the circular and they're enclosed circulatory system. All of these things kind of look like mammals and humans, um, which are different than like any of the other invertebrates. Um, but the huge discovery is that octopi can improve their genetic code. They can basically shake genes. That's crazy. Yes. So they can edit their own RNA, which the RNA is the is when you when you break down genes, you have an RNA, and the RNA, and then you have the mRNA, and the mRNA comes in and basically copies the RNA to paste it into the new gene, into the new chromosome, basically. And that's how we replicate as humans, that's how we grow in cells. Like it's all based on our DNA and the RNA. So basically, they can adapt. You were asking, how have they survived? Survived. How did Megalodon not suggest I've been because they can literally edit their own RNA to be able to adapt in any environment? This is 100% an extraterrestrial. Right. How maybe they came from an environment that was completely different from the the earth? And that's been my whole thing with like the aliens is like, how do we even know that they could live on our earth because it's completely different than there's just no other creature like them. Right. Anyway, can octopi survive outside of water for a little bit though.

Um, there's a type of octopus called the blue-ringed octopus who can literally dial up their color, like magnify their color and increase the contrast of their color because they're highly poisonous with like one bite they can kill a small kid. Oh. In seconds. This octopus is the size of a golf ball.

SPEAKER_02So when there's prey or predators around, he just dials up his color to be like, watch, you guys think you can mess with me? Where do they live? Try to change his change his colors because he knows how like he is. Yeah.

Um, but there's also the mimic octopi who can literally he is named the mimic because he can shift and shape into like his own predators, just trick them. So like he can like a flounder will eat, will try and eat them, and he just shifts into a flounder, and it is crazy. He looks like a flounder. And then also the like lionfish. And every time I hear lionfish, I think of CC from New Girl because Schmidt was like, I need that lionfish. Um, and octopus is also whenever it's unfortunate to be caught by a predator, it can just like escape by giving it giving the predator like one of his arms because it can regrow its arm. Like a liver. Where can you see octopi? I'm so happy you guys asked me.

Instead, we're talking about eels and dot dot. Oh, the ellipses. A mysterious. Um, because today's conspiracy is all about the mysteries of eels and their unknown reproduction. Oh. Where do they come from? Okay. How do they do it? Well, what do you know about eels, Kate? You said you've never seen one.
SPEAKER_02Well, I've never seen an eel, but the only thing I think of when I think of eels is like in The Little Mermaid where they like electrocute. Those are eels, right? Right. I think so. And then don't eels like live in holes and they just like come up out of the hole? There's that's all I know about eels.

SPEAKER_03I'm pretty sure that's a meme. So there are so many different types of eels, and some of them aren't even actually eels. Some of them we assume they're eels because they look like it, but they're actually just different types of fish. And eels themselves are actually fish, they are a part of the fish family. They're not like some kind of like reptilian oh yeah. You know what I mean? It's it's its own, they fall under fish, not related to the royal family then. Correct. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, and did you know they can live up to a hundred years? No. Isn't that insane? It's like when I think about how old turtles are. Hold on, I have a question. What eats eels? Well, humans. Humans? It's oh yeah. It's part of sushi. Sushi. Um, and I'm just gonna assume other bigger fish. I I'm gonna be honest.
SPEAKER_02Every time sushi has eel on it, I'm like, I could die from this.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, eels can live up to a hundred years old. They're part of the fish family. Their blood is poisonous. Okay, I have a question. Can they only breathe underwater? No, they can breathe. Some some breeds can live up to 48 hours above water. They can live also without their heads. They're like worms. If you cut their head off, the body keeps going for a couple hours. Wait a second, grow? No. I was about to, yeah. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. So um, those are just some random fun facts. Okay. Because to this day, we have no idea how eels we produce. There's different types of eels that live in different oceans. The American and European eels breed in the Bermuda Trickle. Oh. But there's also the Japanese eels that breed in the um the West Mariana Ridge.
SPEAKER_00Oh, so the Mariana's trench?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Whoa. So there's different types of eels and they breed in the either side of the so, but it no matter what, they have to go somewhere to breed. But we but we've not actually seen them. We've never seen them know that after this, there's a lot of yeah, and I'm gonna get into how we've even come up with that. Okay. So eels have been studied for as long as ancient Egypt, they have been a phenomenon that historical scientists have been obsessed over. Aristotle studied them, and his theories actually started the origin of eels. We actually, for hundreds of years, assumed they just came up out of nowhere in water. And Aristotle's theory was around like water and mud and eels creating in the mud. And we just assumed that was fact until like the 1800s.
SPEAKER_02Oh wow.
SPEAKER_03So what did he think? Like they went and they laid their eggs in like mud, and then when water hit it, it just formed. That's what he thought. And there was also uh Sigmund Freud was a huge, he was obsessed with eels. And he went on which tracks. He was obsessed with the fact that eels had no reproductive organs. So he would go to fish towns, collect buckets and buckets of eels, dissect them, only to look for reproductive organs that he never found. And no scientists, if you dissect an eel, you won't find it. So how do they reproduce? In my opinion, it's asexual reproduction. Interesting that you think that we do we do learn more. Um, in 1886, there was another zoologist, Eves Delege, who discovered a fact about eels that we never learned before. Eels are metamorphic, so they can change, they're like butterflies. Oh, and they go through five different stages. So, yeah, we used to think they were completely different species. We never coordinated them because if you look at the pictures, they don't look like they don't look alike, or they look like just different breeds. So the first one is called a leptocephaly. So that is when they're past the larvae stage and they look like a little flat see-through fish. Okay. There's glass eels, elvers, okay, yellow, and then the end form, silver. Okay, and that was the entire life cycle. But we have no concept of how long they are in each cycle. Okay. Like we don't know how long are they leptocephaly, how long are they glass eels? We don't know because we just cannot get a hold of them to track them. They only grow reproduct reproductive organs only when they need them in that specific life cycle. So you can find like ovaries and testicles at a certain stage, but we haven't been able to narrow it down what age and what so that they get them and then they go away? Yeah. And we don't uh we also don't know why that happens.
SPEAKER_02But how do we know that so so someone has found an eel with testicles and or ovaries?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and they've also been using um hormone injections on eels in laboratories. Oh, that's kind of sad. They've been trying to reproduce because eels actually, the American and European eels, are on the um endangered species list, and so they've been trying to reproduce them. And because we don't know how they reproduce naturally, we've been trying to induce it in a lab by ins injecting them with hormones. And we have been successful in creating the sexual reproductive organs in the labs, but not successful enough to reproduce babies, like we haven't gotten to that point yet.
SPEAKER_02Oh so well, they just gotta go to the Bermuda Triangle, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So something there, something there, yeah. So I talked about the five stages. Number one, the leptocephalia only exists in the ocean. Okay, and a specific ocean, specifically a sea in the sa Sargasso Sea. Sargasso. You guys know where that is? Nope. It's the Bermuda Triangle. Oh, so it's a circle of a sea, they call it a sea within a sea. Okay, because it is bordered by water currents only, no land. And it loops around the Bermuda Triangle and then extends into the Atlantic. This is where the English and American eels reproduce. Okay, and if you look at the Mariana Trench or the Mariana Ridge, it's the same type of environment. It's bordered by water currents only, similar temperatures, similar depths. So that's why we think they that correlates. But for today, I'm thinking I wonder, is it like similar similar pressures? Yeah, I would assume so with the similar depths. So the only reason why we know that they reproduce or can assume they reproduce in this Sargasso Sea is because we've studied the leptocephaly stage, the first stage of eels. And so a scientist with the last name Schmidt traveled for months on the Atlantic Ocean. But he um was from Europe and he traveled um from Europe to the Bermuda Triangle, the Sargasso Sea, over months of a time. And every couple meters, they would test the water looking for these leptocephalia and looking for eels. And they monitored the amount of leptocephalia they found, at what depth, what temperature, and they finally found a pattern where around the Sargasso Sea they were finding the smallest leptocephalia, so the earliest born and the most amount of leptocephalia in the Sargasso sea. So by taking those facts, we can make an educated guess that they are coming from that sea. Okay. But they didn't see like eggs. No, okay. We've never seen that. Okay, never found it.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um, and never was successful in a lab to reproduce. What if they're coming out of like the magma? The migration that these eels make in this leptocephalia stage is almost 6,000 kilometers. So we have no idea like why, how they're able to migrate that long. We don't know their migration trails like we do with like dolphins and seals, but we have not been able to successfully track these eels other than finding them in different stages. We don't know their roots because they come from everywhere. These eels are like in their adult form, are in like rivers, um, freshwater, brackish water. They're everywhere, but they all still come from the ocean. Wait, I have a question. Is there only certain seasons that they go to? So the you will find the most leptocephaly, so the most first stage during like the monsoon season. Okay. In the Sargasso season, which is like a warmer, humid season.
SPEAKER_02But it's like a yearly thing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yeah. So we've never actually seen their eggs, we've never actually seen their larvae. We just know of the leptocephaly. Yeah, and how are you right? How are the eels getting from like the ocean? Yeah. And we don't know how long that migration takes. So it there's so many variables. Also learning about different types of breeds of eels, and they all have the same lifestyle, but their adult form has the same name, but there's different types. So there's parasitic eels. And I learned in my process of researching this, guys, there were two parasitic eels found within a beating heart, within the beating heart of a great white shark off the coast of Montauk. What? Yeah, they had no idea how I got into the bloodstream. Oh, isn't that crazy?

SPEAKER_03Or the aliens in the tunnels of Montauk. And I'm like, are they studying eels? Well, guys. They probably are.

SPEAKER_03Yeah. I want to talk about the Sargasso Sea a little bit more just to get it a little uh more in depth. So it's bound by water currents, no land. Um, it takes up two-thirds of the North Atlantic, it loops around Bermuda and then stretches along east about a thousand kilometers. So that's the size of it. Um, this is actually kind of the visual. It looks like this on the on the like it has like the water chips. Oh, there's a potato chip bag that she's using as it has a really good reference. The reference. It's also known as the golden floating rainforest. Do you know why? Also it has an insane amount of seaweed just floating around. Interesting. And actually, this is not is it golden seaweed? I don't know. Oh, but um, I have my research on TikTok has taught me that this seaweed isle island, because of climate change, is expanding and growing and spreading way more than we want to because of the heat of the earth. Oh, let me just get so we talked about Aristotle. Uh ancient Egypt studied eels and they associated eels with their sun god or the god of sun, which I think is kind of interesting for when we get into ancient Egypt and when we talk about aliens in relation to Egypt. Are the eels a part of that? Um, also, this is a fun fact that I had no idea. During the medieval times, eels were used as a currency because during Lent they were told not to eat any meat that had um anything that came from an animal that had like that did sex, right? Because sex is bad. So during Lent, people were directed to eat food that did not come from sinful acts, and so the animals that were permitted were egg were fish, and a part of that was eels because eels had no testicles or gonads. Oh, so they were allowed to be eaten, and so it was used as a currency. And during Lent was the time when all these towns were meant to pay taxes to the churches, and they would occasionally pay in bags of eels and money. Isn't that crazy? Yeah, so nowadays there's a lot of current day research on eels because of their endangered species, um, and their focus on the reproduction and also the pollution effects on how the pollution in the ocean is directly impacting the population of eels, which I found kind of interesting. And we talked about how they grow them in labs um and have yet to have any successful reproduction of eels in a lab. But while the eels are in tanks and it is that monsoon season, they will instinctually swim in the fish tank in the direction of the Bermuda Triangle. Whoa. So creepy. They know that it is their breeding season and they know they have to go there, whether or not they're in a lab or not. Oh no, this is giving extraterrestrial fast.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's like how the mother is calling us back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And actually, the country that knows the most about eels and is doing the most current day research is Japan. I was about to say, is it Asian? Is it? Yeah. Well, eels is a huge part of their diet and their culture. Sushi. Yeah, it has there's so much sushi available. And so they have been doing their own research and their own studies, and they have actually been able to localize spawning locations in the West Mariana Ridge. So that's where their eels come from. They've actually collected fertilized eggs, but weren't able to hatch them. And they have tracked tagged eels swimming towards spawn areas, so they've been able to discover more details than we ever have. Okay. Because they're the spending money on it, they're focusing on it.
SPEAKER_00How creepy is that?
SPEAKER_03That's like we have the eggs, but it's like they know. And you know what's even creepier? Well, it's like it has to be close to the hive. You know, it's gotta be close to the mother. Uh yeah. Yeah. You know what's even creepier is that they've tracked down the spawning of the eggs and the like the the cracking of the eggs to within a few days of the new moon. They only hatch when it's the new moon. Isn't that weird? That's interesting. And at a depth of about 150 to 200 meters. So the depth of the water, I'm assuming that can correlate with the pressure of the water. Why is it correlated with the moon? I know the moon has to do with tides. Yes. But what does the new moon's effect on the water have?
SPEAKER_00When the sun, moon, and earth are in alignment at the time of the new or full moon, the solar tide has an added effect on the lunar tide, creating extra high, high tides and very low, low tides.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so um, I'm sure that has to play a part with why it it matters to them in the ocean, but or just call me crazy.
SPEAKER_02Okay, crazy. But like everything was recreate was created on a rhythm. Women are created on a like a cycle.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, an eels men are created on a sun cycle, like are all eels females? You know what I mean? Since we can't prove if they have testicles. Well, we know they grow them at some point, but what if they're all like self-reproducing females?
SPEAKER_02Oh, wait a second. So you're telling me, wait, I do it now, I'm like, wait a second. Yeah, we don't even know the sex of an eel when we dissect it. Why did this just occur to me? That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03And then, all right, to connect it to another conspiracy that um we may get into in the future. Okay. You ever heard of Nessie? Yeah. You ever heard of the Loch Monster? The Loch Ness? Well, there is a lot of conspiracists that believe the Lochness monster is just a giant eel. And we have no proof that it's not. Well, yeah, because they can't find it. And we don't actually know how big eels can get. We know they can live a hundred years old, but we don't know. Well, this I have facts that are trying to prove it against it being an eel. That's what I'm saying. And it's like the probability of finding an eel that size in that amount of water is way too high. Like it's not probable. And then also they say the probability of finding an eel that does the breaching behavior where they like come to the surface. They say it would cost too much energy for the eel to use for an area with not enough food sources. So essentially they're like, yeah, wrong. But also, I'm like, we don't know anything about eels. So how do we know?
SPEAKER_00I think I also I think I read the same article article you did about is a luxiness monster a giant eel and it had the same fact as you. And then the one other thing I saw was that it said, well, like based on the growth, the growth rate that we know that they know from their studies of the eels. They can't get that big. Yeah, it would have to be over 200 years old to reach that size, and they've never found an eel more than 150. But we've never explored the ocean.

Of course I believe. But what I think is that eels are extraterrestrials. And pretty much I, while Colleen was researching eels, I was researching unidentified submersed objects or UFOs and SOs. We call them USOs. We're gonna talk about that next week. So I'm I am researching this, and then I'm hearing what Colleen's telling me, and like I mean, well, leave it. So here's why I think that. As you mentioned, nobody knows where they come from. They have no reproductive organs. We talked about how they migrate to the Rebuta Triangle to somehow mate. I mean, I was like, no matter where in the world they are, you corrected me. They go to one of two places, but two mysterious places, which by the way, are both thought similar environments, both thought to be potential areas of alien, of extraterrestrial colonies of water, which again we're gonna talk about next week. Oh my god. They are the only water creature that can migrate salt water to freshwater, then back to saltwater without dying, like you said. So they can adapt to all these different crazy. They can, as you said, they can live on land without water for 48 hours because they breathe out their skin and not through their gills. What if yes?
SPEAKER_03But how are they classified by fish? There's so many variants of fish. That's the problem.
SPEAKER_00And then we're gonna talk in the UFSO episode about how because we don't know enough about fish. Yes. Well, specifically, they say when we talk about the aliens, that there are potentially two like species of aliens. Okay. There's like the green aliens we think of with the big eyes, right? And then we have these like preying mantis like aliens. Okay. So people are like, you know, who's to say there aren't different species of aliens? Um, right.
SPEAKER_03You're forgetting the human reptilian zoids that are running the country.
SPEAKER_00You're not wrong. I am specifically referring to the two species of aliens in the water that we think might have colonies under the water.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Uh right. How can I forget those? He was to say the eel isn't like isn't a third species.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like its own species. Yes. And we don't know how deep they can actually go. We have found them at such different depths. Like we don't know what they can withstand again. They can travel to the center of the earth, guys. Yeah. I mean, if I That's what I just said, do they come from the magma?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The Marianas trench that we talked about, which is 36,000 feet deep. Pressures at the at that sea floor are 16,000 pounds per square inch, and at that level is where they have found these sea cucumbers that are living. Am I selling you on this kit? Yeah. Kate's nodding. Could they be aliens? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think I I I think octopi are aliens. Um, there is one fact I forgot to mention. The American and English eels migrate 6,000 kilometers. The Japanese only migrate 3,000. So that's where it's like, I think the Europeans are a little bit more impressive. European eels. Thousand percent I agree that they could be extraterrestrial creatures. Or at least derived from extraterrestrial creatures. Yeah. Are we derived from extraterrestrial tree creatures? I think that they're aliens, like the octopi. Yeah. I would love to know their origin. And also, I would love to know how much they haven't changed compared to like dinosaur time to now. Oh, yeah. Like that is also interesting to me because I feel like they're kind of like they just haven't changed. They haven't adapted.
