Lunar Landing: Real or Multi-Billion Dollar Hoax? (with Update)

On April 12, 1961, the Soviet Union launched the first human into space. In an effort to “compete”, President JFK asked his VP Lyndon Johnson to identify a “space program which promises dramatic results in which we could win” and began calling for human exploration on the moon “before the decade is out”. Eight years later, on July 16, 1969, a rocket carrying the Apollo 11 astronauts (Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins) took off from Cape Kennedy. After four days of travel, the lunar module carrying Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. As Neil Armstrong stepped out to become the first human on the moon, the event was captured by a television camera attached to the craft, and transmitted back to earth, where 650 million people watched from home. Of them, 125 million were from USA – making it the most watched television moment in US history according to the air and space museum”. Michael Collins stayed onboard the command module Columbia as a communications link and photographer. After 2.5 hours spent on the moon, the three began the journey home, eventually splashing down in the Pacific Ocean on July 24, 1969. There were 5 more lunar landings, with the final one in 1972. We have not been back to the moon since

Non-believers argue that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin filmed the landing on a secret set, perhaps in Hollywood?. In fact, this was just a year after Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A space odyssey, which depicted “realistic” images of outer space. Did he also film the moon landing on a sound stage? The photo and video evidence was only available through NASA, so there is no way to independently verify their authenticity. On the other hand, did rumors of the moon landing hoax originate decades later, due to the fact that the Pentagon Papers and Watergate had left a lot of Americans distrustful of the government?

SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a good question. I'm so happy you asked. Yeah. Let's get into it. We're gonna talk about the moon today. SPEAKER_01In fact, this was just a year after Stanley Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey, which depicted realistic, quote, realistic, images of outer space. Did he also film the Moonlanding on a soundstage? Yes. Uh the photo and video evidence was the only available through NASA, so there is no way to independently verify their authenticity. Hmm. Huh. On the other hand, was the moon landing being called a hoax due to the fact that the Pentagon Papers and Watergate? As a reminder, Watergate was uh Nixon conspiracies that it didn't happen weren't till late 70s.

SPEAKER_03Did we land on the moon? There's no way. There is no way. There's absolutely no way. No. I don't believe we were on the moon. No, definitely not. There's too much. Definitely not. Too much. Absolutely zero percent.
SPEAKER_02But then again.
SPEAKER_01But maybe. Well, you know what, guys? I think it happened. And I'm gonna prove it to you. Okay. Alright, let's hear it. I wanted to start with the photos because I think that most of the photo stuff has kind of been disproven. Yeah, I guess. It's kind of like the easiest thing we can talk about and move on from there. So like the flag. The flag.
SPEAKER_02Was she waving?
SPEAKER_01But you know about I mean you don't believe that the flag was what do you think about your what are your thoughts on the flag?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love a star spinal band on a romance. Um I think the flag was waving.
SPEAKER_02And it shouldn't have been.
SPEAKER_03It shouldn't have been because physics doesn't exist on the moon. The same physics that all the laws of physics are made up of on Earth are not the same laws of physics on the moon. Different physics on Moon. So the if the flag was waving, it was in a studio on Earth.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Dr. Kate. Uh yeah, thank you. Uh-huh. Uh, you're so smart. Uh I disagree. So there is, you are correct about the physics, right? There is, to be clear, there is uh some gravity in the moon, but it's like one fifth or one-sixth of Earth or something. It's much less. So they had this crumbled up flag, right? Right. They get up, they put it in, it has a pole across the top. That's why it's able to stand out, right? We all agree with that. Oh, I didn't know. You've seen the pole? Yeah. Yes, yes, I've seen the pole. I know it's on a pole. And so it was crumbled up. And so when they put it on the pole, there's no gravity to like unfurl it. So they had to do it themselves.
SPEAKER_03So that's why it looks kind of like wrinkled. It does look like it's waved. It's a hundred percent wavy. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01As I go back, how do you look at that and not think that it's waving?
SPEAKER_02Well, this picture looks straight.
SPEAKER_01I did see where they where they had multiple frames.
SPEAKER_02They have different angles of it.
SPEAKER_01They had multiple photos, they took like multiple frames, and when they looked at them, they were exactly the same over time. And if that was wind, you would have seen some motion between the frames.
SPEAKER_02And I guess there's this pic of him like propping it up. I guess.
SPEAKER_01I guess. Alright. Uh and then the dust, what what was wrong with the dust?
SPEAKER_02Why was the dust like exploding out, right?
SPEAKER_01Oh, like when it landed. Yes. Because well, like where would it go?
SPEAKER_03Like what shouldn't it have done? Physics, the laws of physics on Earth does not equate to the laws of physics on the moon. So here, if you land somewhere, you're gonna displace. Like you you go into water, the water displaces, you get a splash. I don't know why you wouldn't do that in on the moon.
SPEAKER_01But I I think it would be different. You can't have like dust in the same float. Well, it sort of did it. It did like a it it didn't blow up like it would have here. It was sort of like this like parabola, like like we're walking. It was like kind of floated and then it like slowly. It had to have been like displaced or whatever. Yeah. Um but you guys think it was on a sound stage, right? I will say a couple things I could disprove it was on a sound stage. So if you're if the way the you know the um the rover was in motion, right? And so if we had just like a backdrop and this rover was in motion, then you would have had a change in uh like perception, right? Like things would have gotten bigger as you got closer to them because it's just like a two-dimensional backdrop. Right. But that wasn't the case.
SPEAKER_02So it didn't look like he was like driving towards like a a drape. Yes. Okay.
SPEAKER_03And then a black backdrop. Yeah. How's that gonna change? Well, like the props or near the backdrop perspective on that. What there's no props on the back of that picture.
SPEAKER_01I mean, there was some equipment and stuff.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. But I guess Megan's saying is that the video you could tell like the texture on the ground and things like that. So wherever they were was not in like a room, right? It was outside.
SPEAKER_01But you guys think it was in a desert, maybe. But they were saying if it was in the desert, this is July. You probably would have seen like some like heat waves coming off of the I just feel like that's just that can be easily doctored, okay?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. I don't know. The photos, I think you're gonna lose us a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm anti uh the photos proof that we were on the because I No, I'm not anti I think that, but most of these conspiracy theories that arose in like the 70s, 80s started, and people were like, Well, look at the pictures, it couldn't have happened. Yeah. And I just want to be like, just to be clear, all of that has been disproven. The pictures, everything, every aspect of the if you can believe it or not, but you can't use the pictures as your proof that we didn't land on the moon. Oh, that's what I mean. That's not my proof. So do we all agree though with all of your research? You read, you looked at these photos, and none of you have like major concerns. Like that photo tells me that we did not land on the moon.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the photo is not what makes me think we didn't man land on the moon. Yes, I agree pretty much. So we don't need to waste a lot of time talking about that. Yeah, no. Also, to be clear, I think it would be terrifying to go to the moon. Have you ever thought about just going straight up in the atmosphere?
SPEAKER_02I've uh Yeah, and also like it sounds sounds lonely. Like there was only three of them, and like Michael didn't even get off.
SPEAKER_03Wait, and isn't it like don't they have to like get into a um chamber that like because there's no sound in space because it's a vacuum, they go crazy? They can that yeah, they can hear like their own heart beating, they can hear their intestines. Have you guys not heard this? No, yeah, they gotta get into it and get deconditioned before they go into space. So it's like allegedly. Um, so they have to get into this because they can literally hear their organs working. I don't want to hear my digestion. No, or your heart, isn't that s creepy? Haven't you ever been laying in bed and hear your heart in your ear? And you're like, that's so weird. I thought that was something in the eye experienced.
SPEAKER_02Um, but can I just point out how like if this really did happen? I would be crazy if I was Michael in the um rocket ship by myself.
SPEAKER_03I you know what? Michael doesn't have main character energy. Is he okay? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Let's talk about their names. Neil Armstrong. Yeah, he sounds strong. Yeah, Buzz Lightyear. Yeah, usually Buzz Aldrin.

SPEAKER_01Oh my god, they said back so that's this point. They have like hundreds of thousands of people.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but why have we not seen it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think you can see it. I don't know. So we have Aldrin, we have Buzz Lightyear, we got Collins. So Armstrong, we know, was the first person to step on the lunar surface. Right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And he said Allegedly. He's he famously said that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Um, but what's interesting is that Aldrin um was actually really difficult to work with. First of all, NASA was like, oh, we've picked, we want Armstrong to be the first guy because he like doesn't have an ego and he can handle it. But they also were like, hey, Neil, do you want do you want a different buddy?
SPEAKER_02Oh, like they gave him that option.
SPEAKER_01They gave him the option to be like, I don't want Aldrin, I'm gonna take this other astronaut.
SPEAKER_02Whoa.
SPEAKER_01But Armstrong was a good guy and he decided to go.
SPEAKER_03Who was the runner up? Uh Armstrong is a type 9. Armstrong is like, I'm not trying to create any waves here. I'm trying to do my job and get out. And and Buzz Aldrin's probably a type eight. And Neil must have known. Who's like, I'm gonna let everybody know how just upset I am about this situation.
SPEAKER_02I feel like Neil must have known that Buzz Light. He either had a type 4. Buzz Lightyear would have been a good name.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Buzz Lightyear definitely was. He knew. He knew what he was.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, what a guy, Armstrong. Armstrong seems like he was like a real Armstrong?
SPEAKER_03He could probably get it. Yeah. A real American.
SPEAKER_01No, just like a good guy.
SPEAKER_03One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Oh, wait, Megan, why don't you tell us? Did he say that or was that scripted? That was screwed scripted. That was scripted, my friends. That was scripted. Oh, I'm sorry. To use in a stage.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Do they have a screen screen? I'm just gonna move on because this girl could keep going. Okay. So well, so Neil Armstrong, R.I.P. He died in like 90 93. I think he ate a cabbage, but it might have been a pacemaker placement. It was some kind of surgery. And I think there was a lawsuit and whatever. But he did die. He lived a nice long life, but he died in medical complications.
SPEAKER_03A medical complication or a government complication.
SPEAKER_01Maybe they're trying to quiet.
SPEAKER_03Maybe he was getting dementia and realizing. Oh he was revealing games.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and then we have Aldrin, who I didn't realize was like such a jerk, actually, in Red One time I thought. So uh Buzz Aldrin is a he's a Freemason. Oh guys. Which does not make him a jerk, but it does make it's like what conspiracy do?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Freemason. Freemasons, if you don't know, is a whole other field of conspiracy theory.
SPEAKER_03Don't worry.

SPEAKER_01He on January 20th, 2023, uh, which was his 93rd birthday, he announced on Twitter, because we call it Twitter here. Yeah, Twitter that he had just married for the fourth time. Oh at the age of what? He was 93, his wife is 63.
SPEAKER_03Did they even know that he landed on the moon? Like, were they alive during that time? Crazy.
SPEAKER_01Was she a baby? But you know what? We don't, there's no ageism here. That's fine. Live your life. But Collins, poor Michael. Michael commented that he he has commented that he thought Aldrin, quote, resents not being first on the moon more than he appreciates being second. So this guy sounds like he was like not that easy to work with. He is also the one who somebody in like California stopped him and was like, don't think you landed on the moon. And he punched him, and he was like, he was like 70 or 80, and like I kind of respect that.
SPEAKER_02Uh Kate just said that that fact that he punched somebody is the reason she could believe it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's the only reason I could believe it. Because he got because guys, a 70-year-old man punches somebody. How funny is that?

SPEAKER_03Um He's like, F you, I landed on the moon, and I'm gonna punch you in the face.
SPEAKER_01What else is the other thing that's interesting is like, so Armstrong, you know, he goes off first, he's got the camera. He's taking pictures. So now when we look at these pictures, I know they're all in black and white suits, yeah, but they're almost all of Buzz Aldrin. There's only two pictures of Neil Armstrong. There's space.
SPEAKER_02Wait, did Buzz not have a camera on his suit?
SPEAKER_01Well after the fact, they were like, dude, that's not cool. Uh, you know, Neil doesn't have he only has two pictures. Yeah. And what if they and Buzz was like, well, you know, we didn't we didn't really practice for that contingency. Like, we didn't have a game. I'm like, I think you just were like having your moment. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I think he might be he is still alive. And you know what? I don't want to minimize him because I do believe he's a national hero. Okay, he risked his life to land on the moon. But just sounds like a bit of an ego this one has.
SPEAKER_03Wait a second. Allegedly landed on the moon.
SPEAKER_01Allegedly. And then let's talk about our poor third wheel.
SPEAKER_02Michael. Michael. Oh my gosh. We love a Michael. Yeah. We do. I love many a Michael. Yeah. Shout out to my dad. My dad, too. Oh, I forgot. And my brother.
SPEAKER_01We also love we love a supportive friend that helps their other friends really achieve surgery.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's right. That's right.
SPEAKER_01So this was kind of a sad story, too, though. So he was supposed to be on a different mission.
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_02But he didn't know that. Me neither.
SPEAKER_01He had to have surgery because he had a bone spur. And so we kind of just like lucked into the Apollo. So he was the plan was for him to be like the backup commander of the Apollo 14 and then the commander of the 17. Um, but he was like, honestly, I'm kind of done. I don't ever want to go to space. He's like, I'm gonna do Apollo 11, and that's it. And I don't ever want to go to space again. His whole motivation, what a nice guy, was like to to see JFK's dream come true.
SPEAKER_03That's nice. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So he's like, I want to do Apollo 11, and if this mission is successful, I'm good. I don't need to like go to the go to space again. Um, what a supporting act.
SPEAKER_02That truly is an American.
SPEAKER_01But let me just wrap up here quickly with Michael because he deserves his moment. His moment and the sun. The moon does reflect the sun. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So um But we were never on that. Anyway, he's a good guy. But here's what I will say, and we'll kind of get into this also when I talk about why I think this happened. Okay. Despite the fact that Collins never even got set foot in the moon.
SPEAKER_03But he was the camera guy, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. From the from the aircraft. Yeah. Camera spacecraft. And he was communications. Communications. Um he I mean, he was critical to the Yeah. He just didn't have thousands of pictures taken of him like uh everybody, you know? Yeah. So he died at a pretty old age though, um, in 2021 in Florida. He died of cancer.
SPEAKER_02The best allegedly space photographer in the world. Man, what a wingman.
SPEAKER_01What a wingman. Yeah. That is that is, you know, Kane is a killer wingman. And I would say that's like Kane energy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's big Kane. Sacrifice himself at the age of 90 to get you to space so he can sit on a living to 90, though, guys. Well, they took his ashes to Arlend National Cemetery, and they love a good that's very sweet. Yeah, I feel like military memorial. Thank you. For your service, Michael.

SPEAKER_02Although I don't 100% believe they're on the moon, he would have been the one I wanted to meet.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I feel like he would have been the nicest. Yeah. Neil Armstrong just seems kind of boring. Actually, I think I would have liked to meet meet Buzz just to see if I could get it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Let's talk about the technology aspect of it, Megan, because that is where you absolutely lose me. This is the 1960s, people. How, although after discussing the Montauk experiment, I now have newer theories.
SPEAKER_01Um that the aliens brought us the technology, and maybe we did do this?
SPEAKER_03I'm kind of like so I that honestly is more believable than us just being like, we're gonna go to the moon.
SPEAKER_02Suddenly being able to go to the moon. Right. Yeah, so I would say, um, so we did have an Uber driver, Michael. We've referenced him in previous times, and Michael essentially told us we did have this technology that our our personal brains were just too small to conceptualize it. So they told us we landed on the moon, but they never truly explained how we got there because they felt that we couldn't comprehend it. And after discussing the government, the government. And after discussing the Montauk experiment, now maybe what we were too pea brained to understand is it was aliens. It was aliens that did it. I don't I don't think it was aliens. Megan doesn't have anything about the aliens. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I mean, if Montauk is real, if there is time travel, because the aliens didn't occur in this timeline until 1980, right? The 80s. 1983. Yeah. Yeah. We were on the moon in the 60s. 69. What a great year. 69. LOL. Um so if all of that is real, then we time traveled back to the 60s to get to the moon.

SPEAKER_03Okay, the technology. So, internet was created in the 80s, as we know. The 80s.

SPEAKER_03Yeah. In Montauk, for sure. Um so you're telling me that the internet was creating created in the 1980s. The internet has absolutely created this whole world of things that we do right now. We can uh like make people and and pr pretend that we are those people, aka The Sims. We can like the ones wandering in DuPont circle. But you're telling me back in the 60s when there were no cell phones, nothing that like connected people to each other except for telephones in the house, in which most of the time people were calling the operator.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because how can they get to the moon with like the max technology that we like knew about was like a phone?
SPEAKER_03Right, like and these TV, it's all cable, they're using cable or like those antennas that are sticking up out of the house, and all of a sudden they're gonna broadcast that we were on the moon.
SPEAKER_02So my thought process is how do we have the technology alone to get to the moon, yet alone broadcast it live?
SPEAKER_03Right. They and they that they knew that a camera would just work there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. How did they know it would work? I'm saying they have to like they have to make these cameras, or I guess just one camera that can like withstand the atmosphere of the moon.
SPEAKER_01Well, let me talk about the technology. Let's hear your so we'll start with the camera because you mentioned the camera. Okay. So the camera was created by Westinghouse in the early 60s. It cost $2.3 million because they were like, we need a TV camera, but we can't have something that large and that heavy.
SPEAKER_03But $2.3 million is expensive in the 60s. I didn't even know they had that much money.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I mean 2.3 million. They had leftover money from the Nazis.
SPEAKER_03Oh the gold.
SPEAKER_01So $2.3 million um to make this camera because they were like, we need to have all the capabilities of like a TV camera, but it can't be that heavy, can't be that cumbersome. So they get Western House to make this compact lightweight camera. They had to create a slow scan camera which transmitted fewer lines, so it did 10 frames per second versus the standard, which was 30, so it used less bandwidth and it'd be easier to um send this data. So it would be a lower quality image but less data expenditure to transmit it back to the US.
SPEAKER_03I just want to know how did they transmit it back to the United States.
SPEAKER_02No, so she's gonna talk about transfer.
SPEAKER_03I gotta talk about the camera first. Thank you, Colleen.
SPEAKER_01I think uh Megan does know what she's talking about, but we're gonna be able to do that. I just know that whenever we've had this conversation before, like out in the world before our podcast, these girls always get fired about technology. And I was like, I had better have your shit together. And we're also very stubborn because we all like to be right. So they so they create this camera, like, okay, it's lightweight, it's gonna use less data, it's gonna transmit. But the problem is that the moon is a very dark space and there's very bright lights, and so you have dark and light. And so what happens when we talk about our shutter speaker aperture, right? If you Oh, if you let in too much light when the shutters open, it gets overexposed. Yeah, and like and like you get blurred, blurred images, right? If you're so they had to use this classified technology that they had already classified. Well, they had already developed it for Vietnam because they were using the this camera technology to take pictures in low light levels. Um in Vietnam. Like in the jungle, in the woods.
SPEAKER_03I just want to go back to the fact that like Megan was like, we used a camera from the Vietnam War.
SPEAKER_01Not from the Vietnam War. So what I'm trying to say is that this technology did exist because they created it, the camera technology and these like low light. It just wasn't like privy to us, right? And Westinghouse had actually done it and like had actually created this, and then they were like, you know what, it's gonna come in useful for this project, this contract we have with NASA. So we're gonna like declassify that so that we can use it. So they've been using the technology for a decade. People just didn't know about it, is what I'm trying to say. Okay, camera, we can make the camera. It sounds legit. Sounds like they did a lot, they spent a decade creating this camera. You can see replications of the camera itself. You know why? Because the camera got left behind.
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry, the camera got left behind on the moon? That's a likely story right there.
SPEAKER_01So the transmission. This is Kate's question. How you go you both are questioning Colleen and Kate saying, how can this how can you film this live and it make it all the way from the moon back to Earth?
SPEAKER_02With it being the 1960s.
SPEAKER_01In the 1960s.

SPEAKER_01So I did a lot of research on this transmission. Okay. And I really tried to ask you.
SPEAKER_02I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_01Because I wanted I didn't want you guys to just come screaming at me. They had to transmit video and sound signals back to Earth. So they developed this unified S band, being like, let's get all this information and have it all trans like transmit singularly as one thing. How they got that signal that had all that information that was all put together into this unified S band, I think was via radio waves. Okay. And the radio waves, so we think about like when we're in on Earth, right? You can only get a radio station that's a couple hundred miles away because we have buildings, trees, there's like things for the signal to go through. In space, you're in a vacuum, as Kate pointed out to us. So USB streamed this combined data into a single antenna so they could pretty much use the radio waves to transfer the data. So we have this antenna on top of their space machine, right? And we have um uh antennas, massive antennas, not little radio antennas, right? These massive antennas, kind of like what they had in Montauk, uh in like on Earth, and that's where getting the signal. The signal went to Australia because at the time that was the side of the Earth that was. Oh, it's facing the moon, okay, because the Earth is spherical. Yes, so it goes Definitely not flat. So it travels the equivalent of really 300 miles through this space vacuum via radio waves, yeah. And uh gets transmitted to Australia, who then balances it back to Texas, and then they air it. Because I created this new software to like get this image sent, they had no it was not compatible with like the TVs that everyone had just gotten in their houses. So RCA and NASA's Goddard Space Center. Oh NASA's Goddard Space Center, by the way. Yes, just down just down the road. It's um down to ninety-five.

SPEAKER_01Yeah. They didn't they had to actually, this is like why your images are so pure rainy. Oh, you can pure. I was gonna say the opposite. They literally put a camera, so like Australia gets this image. Oh, and then there's a camera filming the image in Australia off the screen, like filming the TV screen, and then sending that to Texas where it goes out to everyone's house.
SPEAKER_03Um well, that's very interesting, but I still don't believe it.
SPEAKER_02Can I ask a question? So we've already been in space at this point, we just haven't been to the moon, right?
SPEAKER_01We haven't put a man on the moon.
SPEAKER_02There was people like in satellites and things like that. Yes. So they were already testing communications from satellites. Sputnik, which had happened a decade before.
SPEAKER_01You guys are familiar with Sputnik, right?
SPEAKER_03The satellite, sure. Sure. Sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know who the Sputnik is.
SPEAKER_01The Russian satellite. The Russian satellite that we were trying to beat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like the name. The Russian satellite had transmitted radio signals from space a decade before us. Okay. I don't even believe that. So if well, here's what I would say. I would say that they clearly have the technology, and so they would have We're just gonna believe Russia. No, they would have called our bullshit if we didn't do this, right? Wait, hold on.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna but wait a second. We're gonna believe Russia that their own spacecraft transmitted information to them.
SPEAKER_01Well, here's what I am gonna believe.
SPEAKER_02During the Cold War? So what I'm hearing is they did it first.
SPEAKER_01Here's what I'm what I'm hearing is we lost. They would argue actually about a third of Russians don't believe that we beat Russia.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna have to pull our our USSR. We have a friend who's Russian, we're gonna have to bring her on for this.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I just don't believe it. There's too many things that have to line up perfectly. Maybe we went to the moon and it wasn't filmed and they couldn't get the fill footage. I could get on the like it was never filmed, but we went to the moon and then they somehow had to become like make proof and then make footage up of what we did there. And maybe he actually did say, like, you know, whatever he said.
SPEAKER_01Um, and that sound was transported back, but like all of these things just have to I will say I do again, I I'm a believer that this happened, but one thing I do think is suspicious is that like, so we're on Apollo 11, Apollo 1, when they were doing like a dry run of something, so they weren't even like prepared really for an emergency, but um, they had an electric fire and the whole crew died. And so I do think that was this was in 1967, a cabin fire um during a rehearsal test at Cape Kennedy killed um you know the three people on the team. And they investigated it and said that there was an electric, it was a the ignition source of the fire was electrical, and the fire spread rapidly due to combustible nylon material and the high pressure pure oxygen cabin atmosphere. And they couldn't get in the door because the pressure inside the cabin was so high that people from outside couldn't get in to help them. Um that's unlawful. But there was no fuel in this rocket because it was just kind of like a little practice, and so no one thought, like, oh, we've got like a fire hazard here. So there was no like preparation. So these people died, and it was really unfortunate. Yeah, but this is really sick. Which which then you could really get conspiracy-y and think like we could talk, like, was that a cover-up? Did the people Apollo 1 crew know too much? But part of what makes me think that we did land on the moon is because there's no way that the half million people who worked on the Apollo projects, it's like all the Apollo projects, really were able to keep a secret this big. Um, I guess perhaps you could argue that maybe they didn't all know, maybe at least left a few knew, and you're right, you know, maybe the explosion was a cover-up, or maybe it was just like a really sad, unfortunate event. I do think it's interesting that they all died, and then, you know, a couple years later we're like, hey, we're just gonna film this live live launch into space. Right. Um, that is kind of sus. I'm surprised they did that, but I think they wanted they didn't want people to be talking about them on a podcast in 50, 60 years.
SPEAKER_03Also, yeah, what they wanted in 50 years for us to be like, wow, we really went to the moon. But instead, what happened is we had this giant boom in technology, and we got smarter, and we were like, wait a second. There's no you're telling me we went to the moon in the 60s without cell phones, yeah, and blue cheese. I don't know why it's the internet. Because it somehow has to transmit back to the barely American population. I remember AOL. Okay, the dial up.

SPEAKER_01Uh couple of things they did. First of all, they knew that this was a risk. And so these aircrafts, the spacecrafts, the astronauts were all insulated with aluminum. Um, like, and they had these fancy uniforms, which I'll talk about. They're space outfits. They're space outfits.

SPEAKER_01Aluminum. So their foil has tin foil. Um and they would find the trajectory that had the smallest amount of time spent in these within the van elegant. Also, like how funny is it?
SPEAKER_03We're gonna take some aluminum and make it into a uniform.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm gonna tell you about those space outfits though, and I think you're gonna be impressed with what I teach you. Okay. So, and then you also have to think about this. Is actually this theory I stole from um somebody, the uh Royal Gr Royal Museum Greenwich website. But it says it's kind of like firewalking. So you guys know what firewalking is?

SPEAKER_01Yeah. So if you take out all of the um accidental deaths, which unfortunately several of them were NASA deaths, but if you take that out and you just look at like how much was natural death, 41% number one cause of death is cancer.

SPEAKER_02But that amount of people like it had to have been going through.
SPEAKER_01But only three people went to the moon. No, I'm talking this is like all about this is like astronauts from like 1960 to 1960. For this trip, only three people. We only went to the moon five times. But we've had other space exploration.

Well, US, China, India, Japan have all since been to space and have been able to photograph our evidence of having been there and like our uh what's the evidence? Um but these spacesuits consisted of 21 layers of nested fabric, which they actually used the same fabric they used in their girdles and bras. Wow. Girdles. Yeah, girdles. Uh, because it had to be strong enough to protect astronauts from meteorites and debris, but still allow them to have the mobility to work. Um, and then the another company, Apco, came up with this like resin, which would then shield the capsule from yeah, from heat. This is where the capsule, I think. Yeah. And it would the surface would gradually burn away. So you can see as you cut and they cut these, they come back that they did go through. I have a friend who works in NASA. And um I'm sorry, you have a friend who works in NASA and you still don't believe this.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I've never asked him about that. But he does work in NASA, and that's what he works on. How to like make it so that things don't catch fire on the way back through the atmosphere. Yeah, it's supposed to like dissipate the heat so it's not all.
SPEAKER_01Um so anyway, so I think the point is what I'm trying to make is I think they put a lot, and these people had to, these like old women, there's pictures like hand sewing these like steps. There's like a lot of intention to these. Yeah, so I don't I think I don't I think Van Allen's belts and the protection I we can take out as like a possible cause. Okay, Neil and Buzz left a lunar laser retro reflector on the moon. Right. And so it's pretty much a reflector, and then I have one of those from Earth. They can you get it off Amazon? Yeah. They send this laser and it reflects off this reflector, if you will, and it allows us to know like down to the centimeter how far the moon is from us, and that is still there. We've seen it, we use it.
SPEAKER_03No, they they planted it on so it's like a reflector, and they they sh send a laser out to the reflector, and then the reflector bounces back the laser, and then they measure that distance.
SPEAKER_02Big man on big rock go pew pew, and now we know how far Big Rock is.
SPEAKER_03No, but the point the big rock that they're shooting from is the Earth. The third rock from the sun, if you will. You know?
SPEAKER_01But the point is that that is there, and we're still using that tool, and it wouldn't be there if someone had not been going farther away. I mean, we haven't been, as you said, we haven't.

SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. This I think that we've had other problems, other things occupy our time. We can't just get how many billions of dollars to NASA to go land on the moon where we've already been five times. And we're very anti-raising our taxes so much. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'd rather keep my money than go to the moon for the sixth. We fund going to the moon though, just to actually like maybe believe it a little bit more.
SPEAKER_03I actually don't care about going to the moon. I'm just like, there are people starving. Oh, you're right. Oh my god. I'm not like we're funding going to the moon. You're funding going to the moon.

First of all, but like also like how this is like the best thing about being a conspiracy theorist is that you just like needle at people until they release it.
SPEAKER_01Until they fucking do shit. And they just and you just make the fact that they I will say the fact that they had to release a rebuttal only makes me be like, wait, there's a Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_03Like, what why did you have to defend yourself?
SPEAKER_02It's also only two pages long. Okay. Um, it was originally issued in 1977, so the people were already suspicious a few years later, and then reissued again in 2001 because we like to fuck with them.

The brand's gonna be read it after that. They do discuss about the rocks not being fake, which I think is funny. They're like, these are real moon rocks. These are these are rocks that were not made. They said, and I quote, this material could not have been collected or even manufactured on Earth, and clearly comes from an entirely different world. So not even the moon.

But again, how do we know that money actually went to the project? Right. Like I want to see the receipts.

Because people claim the rocket should have created a bigger crater on the moon. But how do I, as a regular person, like I just have to trust that they know what the lunar surface is like? SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, they it says the the this whole two-page article just says we're addressing two misunderstandings about the moon, and it's literally about the surface. So, like well, I think they used to how did the cameras work?
SPEAKER_01I think the initial ones, people really focused like these photos and why they didn't think of it. And I think you guys have provided much more validity. You're right. That was the first section.
SPEAKER_03How like the technology, I just think that like it's takes a lot of I I appreciate all the you know arguments that you have, Megan, but also that just makes me also think that you just have to believe so much more. Yeah, we didn't have cell phones, we didn't have Bluetooth, we didn't even have streaming. Google wasn't even around when we were supposed to live.
SPEAKER_02When I think about you guys writing essays without Google, wait. Yeah, I had to use Did you guys have Google in college? Books. No, we Google in college. In college, yeah.

SPEAKER_03Yeah, for so literally 40 seconds to get on the internet. And we're just gonna like sit here and blindly believe that somebody landed on the moon. It took them four years to go to the moon, by the way. Four years to go to the moon. Isn't that like part of the no? It took them almost a decade. Okay, it took them no, no, no, I mean like traveling. Yeah, traveling in the show. No, it was like three days. Oh, four days, four days, not four years. Apologies. Apologies. Hold on. I need to find my passion again. It took them four days to get to the moon. Four days physically to get to the moon.

SPEAKER_03Okay, and in the 90s, I'm sorry, it took us 40 seconds to get on the internet. We go to the moon, we go to the moon, and we're like, let's transmit this live back to the United States. And we just have to trust, trust and believe that radio waves are transmitting pictures to Australia, which is all the way across the world, and 125 million people are watching this in the United States.
SPEAKER_01Anyways. Anyway, guys. Okay, so guys, so where do we stand when this is all over?

SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm in a pretty firm now. Yeah. I will say that I I always thought it happened. Then I was pushing things, but as I kind of went down the rabbit hole to research this episode, I think I am firmly on we landed. NASA didn't lie to us. Oh, NASA has probably lied up lied to us, but I don't believe they lied about this. Because again, I feel like it would have been we would have had better evidence than like I don't even think Russia thinks we've we've gotten to the moon. A third of a third of Russia does not believe we went to the moon. Yeah. But they did not know that's a lot of Russia. But they but also like a quarter of Americans don't believe it happened either. It's just we got two of them in this. We've got too much time. Yeah. Um and I will say this is only gonna add fuel to your fire, right? NASA has admitted to doctoring images. They because they say they do it because they want you to better see the like um like the crevices and the details, and like when they released the like when the Mars landing happened, the Mars rover, and they they they colored the photos red-because that's how you guys we picture Mars. So I think the problem is No, but I think this is the problem then. Like they say something like, Oh yeah, you know, we do we did doctor some images we Mars. We can't, and then that's what causes you to question things.
SPEAKER_02So I think that's valid. Who can we trust? Um, I also think that wrapped up.
SPEAKER_01I think we could also argue, right? Like, was this whole like what was the purpose of the space race? I think we wanted to beat the USSR, but I think we also wanted to bankrupt the USSR, right? We're like in the middle of a cold war where rapid.
SPEAKER_03JFK RIP. We were like our late president said to do this. Yeah, he's such a he we loved JFK.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we have a lot and he said we're gonna do it by the end of the end of the decade, and that was like what four months or but six months away? Yeah, they were like, we gotta we gotta honor this man.
SPEAKER_03We gotta get a studio in Hollywood and you know, show people that we went on the moon. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, I concede I don't understand the technology, but however, there are other aspects to it, subtracting the technology from it, that are still suspicious. So I don't know if I can confirmly say yes. We've been on the moon for sure, but we are on the moon in the 60s, so I'm gonna say no.

And I was just like casually striking up a conversation with him, and I was like, hey, like, uh, what do you think about the moon landing? And he gave me this look like what? I was like, You think we really landed on the moon? And he was like, uh, yeah. Like, like I was the dumbest person in the whole world.

SPEAKER_03And uh I was like, well, yeah, but like what about the um the technology? How did they get that technology? Like, you know, how did they live stream, you know, Neil Armstrong walking out on the moon all the way back to Earth? And he was like, well, that technology actually existed in the 1940s during World War II. Hitler and the Nazis developed it, though. Um, and I guess that they used to like drop bombs and they could see where the bombs were going um and control where they would end up. So uh this was not new technology. Um we the American people are just really dumb.
SPEAKER_02And now we can say we believe we land on the moon because of Hitler.

He also had his PhD in physics, and he had to basically create uh his own coordinates to get back from the moon to the earth. So he created this equation to figure out how to get back to Earth, and he used that big mirror thing and the laser technology that we like shoot the laser at the at the moon, you know. At the reflector. Yeah. So anyway, Neil Armstrong, I'm sorry I um I doubted you, and also uh Buzz Aldrin, don't punch me in the face. No, I'm almost like Buzz, can you punch me in the face? Again, I that was my biggest like maybe I'm wrong, is that Buzz Aldrin, a seven-year-old man, just decks some guy.
